Message from Durham Youth Council Regarding Holiday Activities

5th May 2021 By jilljohnston

We’ve been approached by some of our partners, they’ve been allocated some funding to support children, young people and families over school holidays with free holiday activities / programs / projects, all of these projects will run across County Durham, and will provide food/meals for those that take part. It is a little bit of a spin on the previous, much smaller scale ‘holiday hunger’ projects that have been ran in previous years, but offers much more opportunity for development etc.

We’ve been asked to consult with children and young people to ensure that the money is being spent in the right way, offering the right activities, food etc. as a result, we’re carrying out an online consultation to find out what children and young people want.

Please see the link below we would greatly appreciate if you would encourage your children and young people to complete the survey, the money is there to be spent on them.

This consultation will close Mid May so we can provide a report of findings with partners.

Thank you!

DYC Members.
